I do 3 things—craft documentary films, teach design & storytelling, and make art projects.
Working as a filmmaker and designer in the realm of narrative non-fiction, I make short films, immersive installations, and feature-length documentaries. I rely on emotional to tell a story. If my viewers are laughing or crying, I’ve done my job.
As a second career teaching has become a bit of a surprise. A surprise to me that I am good at it, and that I love it. I teach how to apply the tools and strategies of storytelling to the world of design.

Whether that’s an artist’s profile, or a big metal sculpture, it’s all about telling a sticky story. But, what makes a story sticky? My answer—avoid generalizations; be specific and don’t forget about the unexpected. Look for disruptions. Look for surprise.
When I’m not making things I teach design and filmmaking—it’s a real hoot, and I’m good at it.
